Today we want to reveal to you a unique and true story: that of the “Skull and Bones” secret society ! 🤫 With powerful members and mysterious rituals, this fraternity is known as the « Brotherhood of Death » at Yale University in the USA . This closed group, which can easily resemble a cult, has long been linked to many sinister conspiracy theories!

1) Desecration of the tomb of Geronimo
Legend has it that Prescott S. dug a grave under cover of darkness in 1918. Bush (student at Yale) the grave of a famous Apache warrior : Geronimo ! As a pre-eminent tribal leader and respected medicine man (shaman), Geronimo is a prominent figure for the people of the United States.
Bush, accompanied by several co-conspirators, then brought the Indian’s remains back to the American University at Yale in New Haven, Connecticut. This private university houses the headquarters of one of America’s most mysterious secret societies 🇺🇸.
In the photo below there are 15 members of the « Brotherhood of Death ». According to legend, the bones on the table ( crossed skull and bones) belong to Geronimo.
2) Origin of the Skull and Bones Brotherhood
Founded in 1832, 131 years after the opening of the university, the society came about after some of the existing societies had a conflict at an awards ceremony. To bring the conflict to an end and bring it to a conclusion, members of the Linonia, Brothers in Unity , and Calliopean societies broke away from their respective groups and formed the Skull and Bones society.
William Huntington-Russel and Alphonso Taft took the initiative in founding the Society and along with 12 other members formed the founding class. Every spring since 1832, the society has selected fifteen new members from among young people, including women since the early 1990s.
3) List of members of Skull and Bones
Individuals under consideration include members of the sect on campus and notable figures that society believes will benefit in the future. Each of them, as you can see, has an important place in society 🎖.

Throughout history, some of America’s most prominent figures have been men of death. Each year, handpicked members are selected to join the ranks of elite students.
The Bush family has been an integral part of Skull and Bones for several generations! So all the Bushes, President George HW Bush’s father and George W.’s grandfather, are “Bonesmen” (nickname of the members of Skull and Bones). In addition, hundreds of government officials, such as former Secretary of State (John Kerry), as well as members of the entertainment industry (such as actor Paul Giamatti), have joined the Brotherhood.

Little is known of the Skull and Bones Society apart from notable former students and a few legends. The Society’s initiation process has long been kept secret, leading many to believe that it involves occult practices… not just around the skulls and bones, but also of la black magic et même of animal sacrifice! 😵

6) Headquarters of the sect
Like all fraternities at Yale University (there are seven), the Skull and Bones Society has its own headquarters. Colloquially called « the Tomb « , the Hall of Skull and Bones is a windowless Gothic building on High Street, USA 🇺 🇸 It is located right next to the campus. The members meet regularly for meetings and events.
It is quite complicated to know the atmosphere inside the building that is considered their headquarters, the decorations and colors that you will find there. “”Images with skulls””? flags with bones? Portraits of key members who joined the cult there? 👀 It’s also where the bones of Geronimo rest, as well as the skulls of former President Martin Van Buren and Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa.
In addition to « La Tombe », the company also owns Deer Island, a small piece of land in the Saint Lawrence River. Described as run-down and relatively deserted, the island’s purpose is to be a retreat, a place that members can visit on weekends to “rekindle old friendships” 🤝… or perform secret rituals!
7) Theories and legends about Skull and Bones
Because of the secrecy and elitism promoted by the Society, the Skull and Bones Society, and indeed the Bonesmen, have long been the subject of conspiracy theories ! Some claim that the group was behind Kennedy’s assassination or that they were responsible for the development of the atomic bomb. Most controversial though is that they are sponsored and influenced by the Illuminati and even control the entire Central Intelligence Agency , just so much.
These theories, as wacky as they sound, aren’t all that badly founded when it comes to members. At various times in history, the Bonesmen controlled the fortunes of the Rockefellers, the Carnegies, and the Fords. Its members have also risen through the ranks of the Council on Foreign Relations and held high office there. But also powerful media companies like Time and of course three US Presidents (William Howard Taft next to the Bushes). And in the 2004 presidential election, both the Republican and Democratic candidates were Kerry and W. Bush. Bush, both former Bonesmen. And we bet you didn’t know that! 🤫
8) Secret Brotherhood: The mystery remains
Despite the theories and accusations that surround them, the Bonesmen have been notoriously silent about what goes on in their inner sanctum. Kerry and Bush were asked about their lives as Bonesmen at the 2004 election, but neither would comment. Totally normal after all.
- “It’s a secret,” Kerry said without adding anything.
- “I can’t say more,” W. added. Bush in his autobiography !
It could be that the members of the society are actually plotting to conquer the world, or that nothing really is happening in the tomb. Definitely nothing worth reporting. Maybe members just enjoy being the subject of nonsensical theories ? 🤨 Hundreds of books, documentaries and specials have been released.
